Essay 70

The Primal Vow and the inconceivable Buddha-wisdom  cannot be comprehended.

The so-called “naturalness of the Primal Vow” is the “calling sound” of Amida Buddha, designating the inconceivable Buddha-wisdom that is the power of the Vow. By leaning on the spontaneous working (naturalness or jinen) of the Vow, and being able to accept with reverence “relying on the Primal Vow for birth,” you will come to realise that

"Birth in the Land of Bliss is truly ‘free.’
It is truly 'just as it stands.’
It is truly inconceivable!"

This is what we call the naturalness of the Vow-Power.
