Namu Amida Butsu!
I will be posting some of the translated works of Zuiken Sensei from one of his books in Japanese. This book is titled as The Pitch-darkness - The Culmination of Anjin. I have got its chinese version which I can read and understand. Rev George Gatenby encouraged me to translate it into English so that more people can have access to it. I was a bit doubtful at the beginning as my fluency of English is lacking. However, since Rev George Gatenby is willing to help me to edit and proofread the manuscrtipts then I am more than happy to give it a try. In fact, it is Amida, Master Shinran and Zuiken Sensei doing it by making use of my hand and mind only!
I will post the passages here one after another for viewing. I am not sure I can fully grasp the meaning in those passages but I hope with the help of Rev George, the meanings will become clear to us as Rev George is someone who know very much of Zuiken's thought I guess.
For your knowledge, the passages will not come in actual order as display in the books. It is simply up to my choice to translate whichever passsages that I find them easier and convenient. In fact, each passage can stand on its own without interference.
However, I will first post the foreword of the book to give all an idea the purpose of this book to be published.

Thank you very much Rev Josho Adrian, please let me know if any part of the passsages were not clearly translated or if you are doubtful of its real meaning or the way it should be addressed. I understand that I don't really have what it takes to accept this task of translation but seeing that the content of this book is so invaluable, I was compelled to give it a try. There are lots lots more of precious works of Zuiken Sensei available in japanese and some already translated into Chinese by Rev Zuikaku with the aid of Zuimoku Sensei (the dharma heir of Zuiken sensei besides Zuio Sensei)
ReplyDeleteJust now stumbled on your work and efforts and cannot wait to see more. So exciting--after years of xerox copies of Zuiken's work to find such treasures on the net---if you produce too much for Rev Gatenby to handle, you can count on my assistance with editing, proofing, etc.

ReplyDeleteThanks for finding the work beneficial. We owe a lot of thanks to Zuiken Sensei for leaving behind a lot of good writtings behind. For the time being, it is my progress that is slow and not that the translations are too much for Rev George to work on. I guess Rev still available to help. I never have thought that this work come so much important to certain people, at least I myself treasure it a lot and now happy to hear the positive feedback out there in another corner of the world. Due to my capacity, I could only churn out the translation at such a pace. I wish so much that I could make them all out overnight but I could not efford. Anyway, I will try to work a bit harder on that and hopefully to produce the translated work a bit faster. Stay tuned and be bear with my progress.
I might seek your help in advance in need.
