• Whether in the past or now, the persons who are born in the Pure Land are subject to the design or calculation of the Primal Vow-Power of Amida Tathagata for birth. They do not depend on their own wisdom in order to be born there.

•  The wisdom, the great compassion, the power of expediency, and the great virtue-power of the Perfect Enlightenment are all included within “the command of the Primal Vow, summoning us to trust it.” This one command is entirely trustworthy; no faith or peace of mind is to be sought apart from this.

• Speaking of the command of the great compassion of ‘Come right as you are,’ it embodies shinjin (faith) and nembutsu. It’s not we who hold up shinjin to entrust in the command.

• We simply look up to and be faithful to the command in a grateful way.
